Silver Bay Harbor association
Dear SBHA Members,
Hello neighbors. It may seem hard to believe, but summer is just around the corner. So it's time to start preparing for another fun season at the Silver Bay Harbor Association.
Please note that some fees have been increased this year. That doesn't happen very often, but it has become necessary to ensure that we have enough capital on hand to fund the property maintenance and improvements that will be needed in the years to come. This year, for instance, we have to replace all the plumbing in the marina. An unexpected freeze last November caused the pipes to burst, so going forward we'll be shutting off the water for the winter on Nov. 1 instead of Dec. 1.
The annual dues for regular members will remain the same, at $165. But the dues for associate members have increased to $250. The boat-slip rental fees have also increased to $800 for regular members and to $1,200 for associates.
The necessary forms can be found under the FORMS tab on the associationís website at www.silverbayharbor.com As always, please make all checks payable to the Silver Bay Harbor Association.
Annual membership dues are due April 1st. Please print, fill out and send your Membership Renewal Form and your check to our Treasurer, Mike Raymond, at 36 Joyce St., Toms River, NJ 08753.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR BOAT-SLIP RENTERS: Like last year, all boat owners must go through an in-person application process. If you wish to rent a slip for a boat or waverunner for the upcoming season, please print and fill out the Boat Slip Application Form. Then please bring your form, along with your check for the full slip rental fee and all supporting documents, to the harbormaster, Lou Frusco, at the SBHA clubhouse on one of the following days:
Tues., March 6th between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m, or Sunday, March 11th between noon and 2 p.m.
Boat-slip rental applications and full payment of the rental fee must be received on one of the above two days in order to be assigned a slip for the 2018 season. If you canít make one of those dates, be sure to contact Lou beforehand at email@example.com or 609-548-6241
We require documented proof that all vessels occupying slips are registered and insured in the name (and household address) of a member or associate member. You WILL NOT be assigned a boat or waverunner slip until your annual membership dues and slip-rental fees are paid in full for this season. If we do not receive full payment on one of the dates shown above, you may not get a slip this year -- even if you had one previously.
As always, regular members who had a boat slip in either of the last two years get first dibs on the same slip if they pay on time, followed by other existing or new members. Returning associates who had slips last year rank next in priority, and other associates will then be assigned slips on a first-come, first-serve basis if any are still available.
The lifeguards will start working weekends on Sat., May 26. They will be on duty every day starting Sat., June 16. The beach will be guarded on weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekdays from noon to 5 p.m.
The annual meeting for all members and associate members will take place at 11 a.m. Sat., May 19 at the clubhouse.
The annual Crab Race and Picnic will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4 at the beach club. Registration for the race starts at 10 a.m. and post time is 11 a.m. The picnic kicks off at 2 p.m., with food served between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Here is the tentative agenda for the annual meeting. Two seats on the Board of Trustees are up for grabs this year. If you're interested in running for one of those seats or have anything else to add, please contact association president Bob Mura at (732) 255-1204 or firstname.lastname@example.org
